The oven

Every multi-function appliance claims a number, and most owners use two of them. So it is worth going through the eight one at a time. Air fry and roast are the pair you will use on a Tuesday.

Bake and pizza are the two that stop you heating a full-size oven for one tray. Toast and bagel are the reason the toaster can leave the worktop. Broil is for the last two minutes, when the top of something needs colour.

And dehydrate is the one nobody buys it for and half of owners end up using. What makes the odd ones real is the range: 85 to 450 °F across six infrared heating elements. The bottom of that is not an oven setting at all — it is hours of low warmth for fruit, herbs or jerky.

The top is above the fan setting on most domestic ovens, which is where a roast potato actually blisters rather than just softening. The cavity is sized for a household, not a snack. Up to 4 lbs of ingredients, a 12 inch pizza, six slices of bread, or six chicken breasts on the sheet pan — a meal for up to four people in as little as 20 minutes.

An air fry basket, a sheet pan and a wire rack come with it, so the right surface for each of the eight jobs is already in the box. And when it is done it gets out of the way. Shut the door and it flips up to stand against the backsplash, taking 50% less of the worktop than it does open.

It measures 17.01 in deep, 15.75 in wide and 7.68 in tall in polished stainless steel, runs on 1800 watts through plain buttons rather than a touch panel, and the crumb tray slides out of the bottom to be tipped into the bin.

What it does, one setting at a time

  • Eight settings that each earn their place: air fry, roast, broil, bake, pizza, toast, bagel and dehydrate
  • Six infrared heating elements spanning 85 to 450 °F — low enough to dry fruit, hotter than most fan ovens
  • Takes up to 4 lbs of ingredients, a 12 inch pizza, six slices of bread or six chicken breasts
  • Feeds up to four people in as little as 20 minutes
  • Flips up against the backsplash when the door is shut, taking 50% less worktop than it does open
  • 1800 watts through physical buttons, with a crumb tray that pulls out of the bottom
  • Air fry basket, sheet pan and wire rack included; 17.01 in deep, 15.75 in wide, 7.68 in tall

Eight settings, and what each one is actually for

Air fry and roast carry the weekday cooking. Bake and pizza save you heating a full-size oven for one tray. Toast and bagel are what let the toaster leave the worktop for good. Broil is the last two minutes when something needs colour on top. Dehydrate is the one people buy without planning to use and then use most weeks. That is eight, and none of them is padding.

The range is what makes the odd settings real

Six infrared heating elements, 85 °F at the bottom and 450 °F at the top. The low end is not really an oven temperature — it is hours of gentle warmth, which is what drying pear rings or herbs needs. The high end sits above the fan setting on most domestic ovens, and that is the difference between a roast potato that blisters and one that merely goes soft.

Sized for the table, not for a snack

Up to 4 lbs of ingredients at once: a 12 inch pizza, six slices of bread, or six chicken breasts across the sheet pan. That is a meal for up to four people in as little as 20 minutes. The air fry basket, the sheet pan and the wire rack all come with it, so each of the eight settings already has the right surface to cook on.

Then it stands up and gives the counter back

Shut the door and the whole oven flips up to rest on its back edge against the backsplash, occupying 50% less of the worktop than it does in use. Nothing is unplugged and nothing is lifted into a cupboard. Open, it is 17.01 in deep by 15.75 in wide by 7.68 in tall, polished stainless steel, with a side-swing door and buttons you can press without looking.

  • The dehydrate setting was the surprise

Bought it to replace a toaster and an air fryer, which it does. What I did not expect was to use the 85 degree setting most weeks — Pear rings and herbs from the garden, overnight, no fuss. The eight settings are not padding the way they usually are on these things. Toast is genuinely even across all six slices too.

  • Works well, but flipping it up needs headroom you may not have

No complaints about the cooking. But standing it up is the whole selling point and it needs clear wall above the worktop — mine has cupboards at about 40 cm so it will not go up where I wanted it. Ended up giving it a permanent spot instead, which is fine but not what I bought it for. Measure the gap above your counter before you order.

  • Buttons over a touchscreen, thankfully

Two months in and it does everything asked of it. The physical buttons are the detail I appreciate most — I use it with floury hands and a touch panel would be useless. Crumb tray slides out and gets emptied in seconds. Only gripe is that the outside gets properly hot near the vents, so it needs a bit of clearance either side.

  • Stopped heating the big oven for two portions

Six chicken breasts and veg on the sheet pan, done and on the table in about twenty minutes. The big oven has not been on midweek since it arrived. At the top of the range the potatoes actually crisp rather than going soft, which is where cheaper ones I have owned gave up.

Before you buy

What are the eight settings?

Air fry, roast, broil, bake, pizza, toast, bagel and dehydrate. Six infrared heating elements cover the whole span, from 85 °F for drying up to 450 °F for crisping.

How much food does it hold?

Up to 4 lbs of ingredients — a 12 inch pizza, six slices of bread, or six chicken breasts on the sheet pan. That is a meal for up to four people in as little as 20 minutes.

How much counter space does flipping it up save?

50% less than it takes open. Shut the door and it stands on its back edge against the backsplash. Check the clear height above your worktop first — standing up, it needs room where cupboards often are.

What comes in the box?

The oven, an air fry basket, a sheet pan, a wire rack, a removable crumb tray and a quick start guide.

How is it controlled?

Physical buttons, not a touch panel — usable with wet or floury hands. It runs on 1800 watts from a normal socket, with a side-swing door.

How do I clean it?

The crumb tray pulls out of the bottom and is tipped into the bin. The basket, sheet pan and rack lift out, and the polished stainless steel outside wipes down.
